I am sincerely amazed the best Gary McCoy could come up with - after nearly two weeks to work on this cartoon - was ‘bloody nincompoops.’

I’ve already gone over Americans needing to tie every foreign news story to America in some way, and Margaret Thatcher’s death has the obvious tie in of her and Ronald Reagan being political soulmates.
But I want to highlight this one because of how odd it is.
“Ronald and I were one?” It took me a moment to notice the hair, but even with that, what the fuck is this cartoon trying to say? One what? Why is the word balloon so big? Did Benson forget to write something in?

Here I always thought it was because of Reagan’s triumphant “Tear down this wall” speech. It’s hard to keep up with historical revisionism.

I guess I shouldn’t be surprised so many of the Thatcher obit cartoons so far have to include (or at least reference) Reagan. I mean, do you expect Americans to care about any foreign story without a connection to America?
