wtfpoliticalcartoons:

Speaking of old Gaffes, oh man, remember that one time Joe Biden used the F-word?
Also, really, Gary? Paul Ryan is the trump card that’ll win the election for Romney. How, by appealing to the economically conservative wing (even more than a Billionaire who doesn’t pay his taxes)?

Mitt Romney already had the economic wing of the Republican party sewn up. How best to clinch the election? By choosing as his running mate NOT a social conservative, and NOT a strong-on-defense conservative, and NOT a Tea Party favorite, but another fiscal conservative! Brilliant!
Except it’s entirely stupid.
Mitt Romney needs the Republican base to win this election. Mitt Romney does not have the Republican base. Mitt Romney does not have the social conservatives. He does not have the Religious Right. He does not have the Tea Party.
He needs those people to win. Wanting to vote against Barack Obama will only deliver so many votes for him. He needs Republicans (and conservatives in general) to want to vote for him. He needs them motivated to turn out on election day.
Paul Ryan is not going to do that. Paul Ryan is not going to whip the Republican base, whip the Tea Party, into a frenzy.
(And I’m surprised McCoy didn’t draw Obama and Biden lying in bed together. If you’re going to put them in pajamas and slippers why not go all the way?)
