1) A silhouette of women raising a flag a la Iwo Jima is supposed to represent/convey “women going against their long-term survival by supporting Obama in elections.” How the hell is that message supposed to be imparted by that image? What’s the connection between Iwo Jima and taking action contrary to one’s own self-interest?

1a) ‘Their long-term survival’? Is Obama going to kill all the women if he’s reelected?

2) And the punchline is: “Why do I put up with you?”

“Because you need to get laid.” With the unspoken line “And I’m the only guy that will do you.”

It’s almost but not quite like an abusive boyfriend telling his girlfriend (after hitting her or just verbally abusing her) “You’re a fat, ugly, stupid girl that no one else would want. I’m the only one who will have you. Don’t ever forget that.”

Think I’m reaching? Read the last panel again. “Why do I put up with you?” “Because you need a man to plant the flag.” And apparently this woman couldn’t get any other man if she wanted. That’s what’s being said here.
